What is it?

It is a profession that aims to promote and optimise the neuro-motor development (the function of the brain during the physical development and movement of a child) of children aged between 0 and 12 years through scientifically based movement lessons.

All lessons that are presented are preventative, stimulating as well as remedial in nature.

The importance for your child

During the first 7 years of a child's life the most development takes place. It is regarded as a critical period because most of the fundamental movement skills are developed and these are very important and form the base for the development of cognitive, fine motor, social, scholastic and sport skills. Each child is evaluated and monitored to determine whether they are functioning on the appropriate development level. The aim of the programmes is to promote and help the child to achieve school readiness.

A Kinderkineticist

All Kinderkineticists are qualified because they have an undergraduate degree in Human Movement Science as well as an Honors degree in Kinderkinetics. Each Kinderkineticist that practices needs to be registered with the South African Professional Institute for Kinderkinetics (SAPIK).
